Yesterday at the church we heard Kathy Sabella yelling about something she spotted in the hall. I was on the phone, so I didn't really pay attention to what was going on until I heard the words, "There's a SNAKE IN THE HALL!"Immediately, I had to check it out, not because I'm brave...more like so I knew which direction to run!
Anyway, Lisa trapped it under a CD spindle cover, and then I was "brave" enough to get down close and check it out. I put my finger against the plastic, and the little snake coiled up in "striking" position and tried to bite me through the plastic. (What a dumb snake! Everyone knows CD spindle covers are snake-bite proof!) Kathy said that when she saw it in the hall, at first she thought it was a worm, but as she neared the cold-blooded killer, it coiled-up to strike at her, too!
Anyway, I snapped this picture of the snake. After comparing the snake with several images on the Internet, and after considering the aggressive qualities of this slithering reptile, get this: we think it was a COPPERHEAD!!!
Because of it's size, it probably would not have been poisonous, but it sure didn't like us at all. So, what did we do?
I told Pastor Ken about it and he came out and crushed it's head with a bat.
Awesome day at work!
