The Scare

Thursday scared me.

Ok, well...it wasn't really Thursday that scared me, but something that HAPPENED on Thursday scared me.

My friend, Doug Sayers, called me and asked, "Hey...can you believe it's only 10 more days until your first service?!?!?"

My reaction? FEAR!!!

My mind began to race with all of the things we need to get finished before the launch, and before I could reason out that we were in fact, 17 days from the launch, I had fired-off an email newsletter to our launch team, stating the same news I had heard from Doug, "10 days left...CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!?"

It was not until later that I actually realized I had lost an entire week of prep time - - - long after the email had been sent! What a sense of peace that rushed over me, as I realized I had an extra week! Thursday night, I admitted my mistake to the team, and we all had a good laugh about it.

Thursday was a great day for us, not only because of the reclaimed week, but because I loved the energy that was in the room during our weekly "Launch Team" meeting. Tim Spencer was sharing the devotional when I snapped this photo. What's hard to be seen in the photo, however, is the amount of energy and activity that actually went on that evening. We were in full-swing of getting ready for the "Great Millvale Egg Hunt." We stuffed over 700 eggs in less than an hour, as well as prepped our team for running the games for the Egg Hunt on Saturday. Everyone worked so hard at getting the work finished in that short period of time, and it made me thankful for the great team that God has assembled to begin Element Church!

Well, I have to go. Only 15 days until the first service, you know!
